The Bladensburg Volunteer Fire Department is always looking for dedicated members! We constantly strive to build our membership to support our 100% Volunteer staffing.
A Little About Us
In spring of 2004, an offer was made to the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department, to utilize the career staffing assigned to station 9, in other areas of the County where it was needed.
This offer was made due to the tremendous dedication our members have and with commitment to provide the best possible services available, not just in our area, but the County as a whole.
This has been a cooperative effort, in the most positive sense, between both organizations. It truly exemplifies the ability of both management teams, working together, to provide the highest level of service to the Citizens of our County.
In this move, “Doing 100% of the Job!” signifies that the Volunteers will continue to handle all of the responsibilities originally assigned to our Career staff. This will include maintaining and submitting all necessary reports as required by the County, performing Multi-Family Dwelling inspections throughout the first due, mapping, pre-plan information and the numerous other duties associated with the day to day operations.
Our station is located minutes from the University Of Maryland at College Park, Howard University, American University, George Washington University and Georgetown University.
We also have many other community Colleges within a few minutes:
- Prince Georges Community College,
- Montgomery County Community College (Takoma Park)
