Just after midnight, companies from the 1st and 3rd Battalions were alerted to 1312 Opus Avenue for the report of a house on fire. Engine Company 26 from District Heights, arrived to find a one story single family home, with fire showing. Battalion Chief 3 arrived on the scene, and quickly requested the Working Fire Dispatch, bringing Truck 9 with 6 volunteers. The Truck Company arrived and was assigned as the Rapid Intervention Company. The crew assembled their tools, and made their way to the front yard. The Truck officer directed the crews to split, and open up the egress points, and ensure all the utilities are secured. The fire was soon extingushed, and the Truck crew stood by for another few minutes before being released by Command.
