Usually when you go to I.H.O.P. at 0145 hours, it is for some good food. This morning, units were alerted to 3601 Bladensburg Road for the building fire. Engine and Truck 9 (both with 6 men) arrived on the scene with fire showing from the "B" side of the structure. Both crews forced entry and advanced two lines into the building. With-in 1 minute of entering, crews were pulled from the structure due to the amount of fire and the weakened structure. Once outside, crews had around 70% of the building involved in fire.

With all hands working plus a taskforce, a total of 6 handlines and three ladder trucks were able to knock the fire in about 20 minutes. Units operated for another 3 hours hitting hot spots and over haul. Company cleared the scene at 0510 hours. Ambulance 99 ran the call as the W.F.D. Ambulance.
