ENGINE COMPANY WORKS AT WEST FOREST ROAD APARTMENT

Just after 0430 hours, units were alerted to 6503 West Forest Road for the apartment fire, with one possibly trapped. Engine Company 33 arrived on the scene with fire showing from the rear. Engine 93 (Second due with 4 Men) arrived on the scene next and established the "West Forest Command". Engine 94 (Third due with 4 Men) arrived next and established the secondary water supply. Both crews advanced there 400' lines towards the building, while the Engine drivers threw 4 ground ladders to the front of the building. (The first arriving Truck Company was 15th due on the run card) Engine 33 located a kitchen off with extension to the dining room. Both crews from 9 checked for extension and at the 30 minute mark, Command (BC1) held the units from 33, 9 and 55. Company cleared the scene at 0615 hours.

The line man from Engine 33 recieved minor burns to his hands during fire attack. He was transported to Med-Star for a check-up. The Volunteers at Bladensburg wish him a speedy recovery.
