Saturday, September 1, 2012 Bladensburg VOLUNTEERS will be hosting an Emergency Vehicle Operations Seminar on Saturday September 15, 2012. The seminar will be held at the MFRI headquarters – College Park.
There is no charge for the seminar. The presenter will be Lt. Mike Wilbur from the FDNY. Lt. Wilbur has over 38 years as a Volunteer and 30 years with FDNY. He is currently assigned to Ladder 27 in the Bronx.
His dynamic, no holes barred to the point presentation is designed to have real world impact on the current mind set of firefighters when it comes to driving and seat belts. It will include a pictorial review of emergency vehicle accidents and their causative factors. Subjects covered include DUI, railroad safety, response policies, intersection safety, rural apparatus driving, leadership and maintenance.
This seminar is a MUST for all drivers and officers. It will focus on the importance and use of SEAT BELTS, including Lt. Wilburs design and Federal DOT approval of seat belts for Response Apparatus that will not hinder you getting geared up while continuing to be belted in.
