2 ADDITIONAL FIRES AT SPRING HILL LAKE FOR TRUCK 9

 May 9, 2007

At 2037 hours units were alerted to 9156 Edmonston Court for the apartment fire. Truck 9 with 5 men responded as the second due truck. Truck 14 and the Squad arrived on the scene with smoke in the laundry room. With smoke on several floors and the cockloft Command Chief 14A requested the second alarm. Truck 9 arrived on the scene and assisted interior crews check for extension while Engine 92 positioned on side C and advanced a line to the exposure building. After thirty minutes of opening up Command backed it down to 2 1. Company 9 cleared the scene at 2145 hours. Around 1130 the next morning units were alerted to 6221 Springhill Court for the apartment fire. Once again units were on the scene with a fire in the laundry room. Truck 9 arrived on the scene and assisted the interior units open up. With no extension to the upper floors Command released majority of the units. Truck 9 cleared the scene at 1220 hours.

When it’s late at night and the probationers are itching to throw ladders, sometimes a big wall is all you have to work with. Placement on actual structures is gone over every day, repetition on getting the ladders out and up is just as beneficial and gets that muscle memory built.
